Do you need web design, image production, or online marketing consulting?  Blinkstar Media is accepting new clients for 2010.  We offer search engine optimization, web design, banner and image production, apparel design, copywriting, and online marketing consulting.  We have room to take on more clients in 2010, so check out our services page and request a quote today!

In 2010 we’re excited to expand our services and projects we’re taking on.  Railroad Redux is going well with Dominic behind the helm blogging about his venture back into model railroad building.  Food Askew has been picking up lately with more recipes and food art submissions.  Girl Scout Guide will be expanding with more suggestions for trips and badge work in 2010, as well Airsoft of Alameda is on a small hiatus until weather permits more airsoft fun!

We are also looking into expanding into some one-of-a-kind crafts selling on Etsy and potentially some other handmade gift sites.  Look for that soon!

Affiliate Summit East 2009 came and went back in August, and it’s almost time for Affiliate Summit West 2010 in January.  Blinkstar Media was in full attendance with both Dominic & Trisha in New York for the conference.  We will both hopefully be returning to Las Vegas for the next Affiliate Summit as well, and plan to cover the sessions again at TrishaLyn.com.  I meant to post these links back in August, but it completely slipped my mind with thoughts of a redesign taking priority.  So without further ado, here’s our coverage of Affiliate Summit East 2009 in New York City!

I’m so pleased with this logo design – I think it’s the best I’ve done so far! It’s easy to work with a client that is available and has an idea of what they want – easy to please! This logo is for RailroadRedux.com – a blog about getting back into the hobby of model railroad building. Here’s the logo on it’s own:

New Design!

August 25, 2009 | Comments | Client Work, Updates

Yes that’s right!  I’ve finally upgraded the site with a new look!  Hope you like it!

I’ve been working a lot on a new client site and a new web property.  I’m almost ready to unveil them!  Still ironing out little things and perfecting the details.  I’m SUPER proud of the logo I created for the new web property.  I’ve got to give a lot of props to Dominic on this one since he’s taking the lead on content for the new site and helped a lot with the look of the logo.

Speaking of web properties, I’ve revamped Girl Scout Guide as well.  I’m tweaking some more things there, too, so I’ll be unveiling it’s new design here in a few days.

So, what do you think?

That’s right, Dominic Fawver will be joining me at Affiliate Summit East 2009 this August in New York City.  Dominic will be assisting me in covering more of the conference for TrishaLyn.com, as well as starting a new model train related blog soon.  So look forward to another addition to the Blinkstar Media family and help me in welcoming Dominic!

RachelNuckols.com is now up and functioning.  This is a client site, built for a recent graduate of a sound arts program.  Ms. Nuckols wanted an online presence to showcase the portfolio work she has put together while attending college.  She wanted a simple site that has the media embedded and the descriptions of what she did for each project.

This was my first forray into embedded media beyond video.  I worked with different media players for the song files and sound files that were not attached to videos.  We finally settled on the simple Quicktime player for all files as it is the least intrusive to the cohesion of the design.

This is version 1.0.  We are currently working on a more suitable design. The site is hard coded HTML created in Dreamweaver.

I announced the launch of GirlScoutGuide.com a bit prematurely at the beginning of February. I didn’t really have a lot of content up, but now there’s some good stuff there, including a bit of a heartfelt thanks from me to my former Girl Scout leaders on this, the organization’s 97th birthday.

I’m working on adding more content in terms of songs, badgework suggestions and tips, arts & crafts, etc. Right now since Cookie season is in full swing, it’s mostly some cookie information and some news stories and my take.

I’m looking for someone with some Illustrator or pen & paper artistic talents to help me with some icons for the site, perhaps with a better logo but I can’t afford that just yet. I want to have category icons to put in each entry, so one for Songs, one for Crafts, one for News, etc. all in the same style. I could go through a stock photo site and find some graphics, but I’d really rather have something custom. Though I can’t pay much, and it irritates me that I even have to “outsource” this kind of work since I don’t have Illustrator myself.

So, any suggestions? I’m all ears :D

I’m pleased to announce the launching of a new site by Blinkstar Media: GirlScoutGuide.com. Girl Scout Guide takes the 12 years of scouting that author Trish has under her belt and turns it into a tangible resource for older scouts, leaders, camp counselors, and other volunteers within the Girl Scout organization.

Featured content will be news on the Girl Scout movement, badge work suggestions and help, camp songs, crafts, activities, and other scouting related hints.

To contact Trish with ideas or feedback on GirlScoutGuide.com, please email info@girlscoutguide.com

Simply put, Blinkstar Media has evolved over the years from Blinkstar Design, founded in 2002 by Trisha Lyn Floyd (now Trisha Lyn Fawver) as a graphic design/desktop publishing company to what you see today.

Blinkstar Media is a publishing outfit, responsible for blog content & a number of blogs, article content, affiliate marketing on a publisher level, graphic design for both print and web, and various other forms of media production.
